Digital Orchid Launched to Create and Distribute Powerful Mobile Applications in Partnership with the World's Top Brands

San Diego - November 15, 2002 -- After two years of research and analysis, four prominent veterans of the wireless and telecommunications industries have launched Digital Orchid Inc., to develop, manage and distribute branded wireless software applications for the mobile industry. The company is uniquely positioned to provide the leadership necessary to enable the wireless industry to successfully make the transition from offering traditional circuit switched voice services to advanced packet switched data services.

Digital Orchid develops sophisticated suites of rich network applications, leverages carrier agreements and relationships, combines the integration of various technological components with its patented "always on mode™" IP which works on all platforms including J2ME, Microsoft PPC and others. Additionally, the company uses the already established marketing channels of large brands, as well as its agreements with retailers and carriers' sales offices nationwide, to market a compelling "mobile experience" for the mobile user.

Powered by Digital Orchid, these applications are unique and only available through the network of partners under Digital Orchid's alliance agreements umbrella. Premium services include applications such as:

  • Breaking news alerts and headlines
  • Brand-independent tools and utilities such as dynamic polling, allowing fans and devoted users to get real-time information
  • Live chat instant messaging services
